Elizabeth “Libby” Gardner is a Licensed Addiction Counselor and the owner of The Right Move, LLC.
Libby’s “official” counseling training and work experience in the substance abuse field began in 2011. This year she opened The Right Move, LLC.
Libby describes her life experiences and the “life events” she has survived, as her “real” counseling training and preparation. The sequence of events leading up to her decision to become a counselor began nearly four decades ago.
Having overcome many challenges, tragedies, very bad choices, and “bad moves” in her life, including addiction, Libby is very familiar with the thoughts, feelings, and emotions that a person experiences when they are struggling and when they are at a loss as to what to do about it.
She is a survivor and has genuine compassion and empathy for her clients.
Libby also has very high and automatic expectations of her clients because she believes in their ability to succeed, regardless of their past or their present situation or circumstances.
Having been an educator for almost twelve years, Libby also has experience with prevention, intervention, and education for clients and their families.
Naming her business was an easy task because IT’S NEVER TOO LATE TO
MAKE THE RIGHT MOVE.

My vision is to work with my clients to help them overcome their fears and to understand substance abuse and the disease of addiction. My job is to help them overcome their challenges in order for them to build and/or rebuild healthy relationships, make better choices in all aspects of their lives, and build and/or rebuild the self-confidence needed to improve their quality of life.
My mission is clear. Using my professional and life experiences, I strive to meet my clients “where they are” by recognizing and addressing their individual needs and providing them with support, empathy, compassion, honesty, integrity, and the hard work and diligence that they deserve and should expect from a professional counselor.
I value treatment input from my clients because they are the experts on themselves. I also value my recovery and success in my professional and personal life because those qualifications make me more valuable and beneficial to my clients’ success and recovery. When my clients and their families arrive at my office, my goal is to make them feel comfort, peace, calm, and no judgment. Clients who make THE RIGHT MOVE, should come with the attitude that they are going to experience positive changes in their thoughts, feelings, and emotions because they are in the right place.
